Two family-owned businesses with shared values have partnered to launch Concept Caravans in New Zealand

Auckland-based Leisure Shed has a proud history of pairing keen RVers with caravans to suit their lifestyle, across late model used Australian caravans, UK and European brands.

And while this arm of this business remains strong, repeated conversations with customers looking for specific features in their caravan quest prompted the business to start investigating other options.

Having already sold a number of Concept Caravans over the years, Leisure Shed founders Rob & Stephanie Allen had long admired the level of workmanship, detailing and finishing.

After travelling to Australia to inspect the brand in more detail and meet the family and team behind Concept Caravans, a strong and confident new partnership was forged.

“Our initial thoughts were instantly confirmed when meeting the Directors and team,” says Rob.

“Our visions were mutually aligned, and we knew this was a brand with the X-factor and a strong legacy. As well as the impressively high standards upheld in every aspect of the factory, and the 20-year history as a solid market player in Australia, it also says a lot about the business culture that many of the original employees are still on board today since day one.”

The first six Concept Caravans have officially landed in New Zealand, and while it’s hard to pick favourites, pride of the fleet may well be the Concept Family LS – a unique Leisure Shed design with strong Kiwi input which has seen the creation of a twin axle 21ft caravan with bunk beds, separate toilet and shower area, and Island bed. The full layout will be revealed in full in coming weeks.

“Leisure Shed is a 100% Kiwi family-owned business and has grown from a team of three in 2019 to a team of 12, including a dedicated workshop and service space,” says Leisure Shed general manager Mike Leyland.

“The addition of Concept Caravans represents the next era for the business and we’re hugely excited to have aligned with such a quality brand and to bring it to New Zealand.”
