From September 23-25, Mystery Creek in Hamilton plays host to the ever-popular and much-anticipated NZMCA Motorhome, Caravan & Leisure Show. Here’s a sneak peek of what you’ll find on offer.
The NZMCA Motorhome, Caravan & Leisure Show is back! After nearly a two-year hiatus, RVers, campers and explorers galore will flock to the show, which is all set to be the biggest ever. This year there will be even more motorhomes, caravans, and exhibitors filling two pavilions, two marquees and a bigger outdoor exhibition space.
The show will be bursting with everything you could ever need or want when exploring our beautiful country in your motorhome or caravan. This year, the show introduces the all-new TrailLite Pavilion. TrailLite is now in their own building situated on the eastern side of the main pavilion. The TrailLite Theatre is now in a new location next to the Seat and Eat and beside the all-new TrailLite Pavilion. Come along to hear from experts on all things motorhoming and caravanning. Get ready to be inspired with eight presentations each day.
Looking for accessories? This year’s Accessories Marquee is a fiesta of fun, with a wide range of new gadgets, incredible innovations, and fresh ideas to make your life on the road even more comfortable, exciting, entertaining and relaxing.
The Off the Beaten Track Marquee is your next must-do. The marquee is filled with tour organisations and operators with loads of cool stuff to try and to experience. You could even be in to win $500 from the great team at Coast FM! Play a game of Corn Hole with Coast Breakfast hosts Toni, Sam, and Jase to be in to win.
Located inside the main pavilion is another new feature to the show, the Ryman Healthcare Check Up Centre. This health hub features organisations offering a variety of health and wellbeing checks, focusing on the importance of keeping well. All checks within the hub are free thanks to Ryman Healthcare.
After an extremely challenging 2021, event manager Michele Connell says she’s delighted to see the show back. “Having to cancel our show last year was a hard decision to make. We are truly thrilled to be back this year with a bigger show than ever,” she says. “The RV industry has not had a North Island show in a long time, so we are working hard to make sure this one is unforgettable. We look forward to a successful three days for exhibitors and an inspiring experience for our visitors.”
A crowd favourite, Walk down Memory Lane, has had a revamp with a new name and new location. The all-new Retro Lane can be found on the Village Green, outside the double doors of the main pavilion. Beautifully refurbished vintage caravans, cars, and vans will be proudly displayed over the weekend and open for visitors to have a good look through and to chat with their proud owners.
Seat & Eat also has a new space, on the grass opposite Retro Lane as you exit the pavilion. There’s a fantastic variety of foodies on site, as well as additional seating and shade cover. Show singer/guitarist Steve Crossland will keep you entertained over lunchtime with all your favourite tunes.
Inside the pavilion annex, visit the all-new Cherry Tree Café for more lunchtime treats. You’ll find the café alongside the NZMCA’s beautifully refurbished 1928 REO Speed Wagon. Make sure you take the time to stop and admire the absolute artistry and workmanship of this unique vehicle while you are enjoying the show.
The show also offers the largest event Park and Stay in New Zealand, so why not make a weekend of it? Stay on-site for only $10 for all three days. You can also choose a multi-day pass which provides unlimited show access over the three days for only $28. Note, the Campers Entrance is now located by the new TraiLite Pavilion with entry on D Street.
Last – but most definitely not least – make sure you come and visit us at the MCD stand located in the pavilion to renew your magazine subscription!
