If you like the idea of a caravan that’s adventure-ready but also packed with all the modern conveniences that make it a home away from home, make sure you get a ticket to the Covi RV & Outdoor SuperShow and your holidays could be sorted for the next few years (at least).
The show is being held at Auckland Showgrounds in Greenlane from 14 to 16 March, plus there’s the added drawcard of a fantastic grand prize to be won, thanks to Jayco and Jayco Auckland. Simply collect stamps at booths around the show, drop your ticket at one of the two entry points and you will go in the draw to win a brand-new Jayco 19.61-2 Starcraft Bushpack, to the value of $84,490.
The popular model comes with clever storage options, a fully equipped kitchen, an ensuite, and living areas. The kitchen comes with a 153L fridge with a built-in freezer compartment and a 4-burner cook top with built-in griller. Online tickets are $18 for an adult day pass and $28 for a three-day pass. An extra $2 will be charged if you buy your ticket at the gate. Children under 16 have free entry.

Potential motorhome buyers should make sure they are at the show at midday on Saturday 15 March when one of the latest and most popular vehicles in the country will go under the hammer at the famous No Reserve Auction.
This year, thanks to TrailLite Group, a 4-berth Elddis Encore 285 with a RRP of $199,000 will be up for bids with absolutely no reserve. The Encore 285 has fixed single beds with a full-width rear bathroom, which means plenty of space. The front lounge converts to a double bed, with foldaway travel seats neatly hidden beneath. Turn the show into a weekend away in your self-contained vehicle by staying at the free pack-in pack-out rally at Ellerslie Racecourse. There is no need to book ahead, it’s handy to the show and a great place to base yourself for a weekend in Auckland.
A free bus will take campers to and from the racecourse and any purchases made can be delivered to the rally. (No rubbish disposal, dump station or water available).
