Susan and Matt Smit were already familiar with New Zealand before they moved from the Netherlands a few years ago. They had travelled the country in a campervan several times before and it was a no brainer for them to buy one of their own as soon as they arrived.
Before starting their jobs, Susan and Matt travelled the North Island in “SuzyQ”, their beloved camper named after Susan’s nickname and her father’s favourite song. “The idea of owning a van and being able to make trips from Christchurch to the many surrounding hot spots was very exciting for us.”
The Smit’s used “SuzyQ” whenever they had a few days off. They would explore the surroundings of Christchurch during the week and outside of school holidays. During longer trips they would take “SuzyQ” around the North Island.
