Interior The 2009 Landmark Piha 800 is the brand’s flagship model and draws on premium hotel suites for interior styling inspiration. It’s a crisp, contemporary look, illuminated with energy efficient LED lighting. The cab’s seating has received an upgrade with two Italian leather sports seats replacing the original commercial-grade chairs. Trail-lite has an onsite interior design consultant, and before production starts customers can specify how they want their home to look and function. Custom spec The cabinetry and layout can easily be configured to your requirements through Trail-lite’s modular interior options. The focus is on luxury and creature comforts, so there’s just one plush north-south queen-size sleeper, with access via dual stairways. The bedroom with television, along with the full bathroom and separate shower, can be closed off from the rest of the living area. Features The AGM batteries provide a 520 amp-hour capacity and are coupled with 170W solar panels, a 40-amp three-stage charger and 1800W inverter. Staying a while isn’t an issue with 570L of fresh water and 400L grey water. The Piha also features a 175L fridge/freezer, microwave, four-burner gas hobs, grill, oven, rangehood, a slide-out stainless BBQ, central vac system, a full lounge with two swivel recliners, 26” Sony LCD television and auto satellite dish, home theatre and an external audio system. Two large Heki roof vents keep things light and airy; there’s generous locker space and an outdoor shower. A class 2 licence is required to pilot the 8.2m vehicle, but with 510Nm of torque the Isuzu NQR500L has the grunt to cope. The six-speed automatic will ensure fuel economy is as good as it can be, while offering car-like shift drivability. Trail-lite has included all the important features such as a reversing screen with dual cameras and bull bars to make the Piha 800 easier to navigate.
