Eura Mobil Profila T Mondial 670

You can count on European manufacturers to make that adage about a modern motorhome essentially being an ‘apartment on wheels’ successfully come to life. The new Profila T Mondial 670 from German motorhome builder Eura Mobil is one such example.

Eura Mobil has landed in New Zealand

Rainer Zeltwanger from Eura Mobil distributor Euro RV is a very happy man. Mainly because after a long wait a new batch of Eura Mobil models have finally landed on Kiwi shores.

It’s fair to assume the smile probably also stems from public reaction to the new Profila T Mondial 670 and RS 720 models; they’ve already impressed at the recent Covi Motorhome, Caravan & Outdoor Show (arriving in Auckland with what probably felt like minutes to spare for Rainer).

Build quality

As to be expected from a German manufacturer, the quality of the Eura Mobil Profila T Mondial 670’s build goes far beyond what you can actually see on the outside.

The outer frame is constructed completely from aluminium and the body is formed from durable fibreglass meaning the Profila T Mondial 670 features wood-free walls that are glued, not screwed. This construction method means the motorhome is impressively strong, but remains relatively lightweight too.

The manufacturer offers a six-year watertight warranty and, as we see again and again with European-built motorhomes, there is a real emphasis on keeping the weather out.

Interior

As light as this vehicle is in terms of what it says on the scales, ‘lightness’ is also a theme continued inside the living quarters. The first thing that stands out as you enter the Profila T Mondial 670 is how light and airy the interior is.

There are two different choices of interior trim; both a lighter and darker option, although Rainer tells me the lighter option is by far the most popular here in New Zealand.

A great sense of space is helped by a large panoramic skylight above the driver’s cab, extra skylights through the main body of the vehicle and plenty of windows down the motorhome’s flanks. Energy-efficient LED lighting and recessed ambient mood lighting ensure the living quarters remain as bright or subtly lit as you want once the sun dips below the horizon.

Underfoot, all Profila T Mondial motorhomes feature a standard heated double floor, which gives you both a flat floor finish throughout the interior, as well as the potential for extra storage between the sandwiched layers.

Bedroom

Our test Profila T Mondial 670 featured a side-positioned French bed, although Rainer says many different configurations are available from the factory, including central queen beds in either a north/south or east/west layout, as well as separate single beds.

There is plenty of storage in the sleeping quarters and even though the motorhome features an open-plan layout, the bedroom and bathroom areas feel nicely separate from the dining space.

The verdict

The Profila T Mondial 670 is all about spacious easy living; yes, just like in a modern apartment. It’s smart, functional and has a few neat tricks up its sleeve. This particular model’s regular appearance in European motorhome media ‘best of’ lists is extra proof that Eura Mobil has crafted a formula that works well.

Pros

  • Double-layered heated floor adds to comfort and practicality.
  • Modern, light and airy interior.
  • Quality level of engineering and detailing inside and out.

Cons

  • French bed layout compromises available bed space; something to consider if you’re tall.
