Andrew and Fleur Fink’s Allisee (all I see) autohome is a vehicle that has lifted the art of motorhome construction to a new level, combining innovation and attention to detail with form and function. Exterior Allisee is 6.8m overall and built on a new generation Fuso. The walls and roof, both exterior and interior have been molded from fiberglass, linked together and then filled with high-density polyurethane foam. With this construction method, compound curves can be created and gives the autohome its smooth lines, strength and insulation. Because the frame has no structure, condensation and temperature change is minimal. The locker doors, the locker for the stainless steel barbecue, awning fascia and body fairings are all integrated into the mold and flush with the outer shell. The locker doors have magnet stays. Interior The cabinetry and bench edges have convexly curved forms, made of lightweight Italian poplar, which has a reddish-brown glow. The bench tops are molded polyester with a colour-fleck finish. There is plenty of storage, including a dedicated spirit cabinet, the cellar drawer and the full-length wardrobe. The molded bathroom is generous in size with a cabinet and pullout makeup table, a good-sized mirror, a ledge by the basin, cubbyholes for toilet brush and toilet rolls and two towel rails. But perhaps its best feature is the circular shower where a Perspex second wall, which sits over the inside wall when not needed, can slide around to the front of the shower to separate it off from the rest of the room. In the lounge area, the multi-position seats are covered in cream-coloured leather. At the front end, a portion swings around to convert into two “travelling” seats with belts attached. The windows have integrated blinds and fly screen covers and are made from toughened glass. The Continental Elite model we reviewed has a permanently made-up, king-size bed at the rear, in an airy slide-out section which electrically slides in again when the autohome is in motion. This is an optional feature. A fold-down step makes for an easy descent from the bed. Two tables pull out from under the bed, which can join to form a larger dining table. The Continental model has a wide, opening, rear window behind the horseshoe lounge. The double-bed Luton in both models is spacious with plenty of light admitted through two small windows on either side, and a large skylight overhead. Leading up to the Luton is a carpeted set of stairs. The inside cab of the Fuso Canter is state of the art with walnut dash board, backing camera, Luton sensors and a switch for the electronic automated leveling system.
