Bailey Adamo 75-4i

Review: Bailey Adamo 75-4i

Peta Stavelli finds out more about the distinctly different Bailey Adamo 75-4i

The Bailey Adamo range at Tauranga’s RV Mega is a very singular offering to the New Zealand market. The Adamo series sits atop a Ford Transit base, which really sets it apart in a crowded marketplace where three out of four new motorhomes are built on a Fiat base. You’ll notice the difference as soon as you step foot in the cab, which is designed to be fully functional yet unfussy, offering all the bells and whistles but with a pared-back look, and especially good visibility.

There’s also a lot to love about the living room, which features Aguti convertible travelling seats complete with scatter cushions, and the revolutionary electrical pedestal table with multidirectional swivel top and telescopic leg which really puts the ‘fun’ back into functionality.

Island bed model

The newly arrived Adamo delivers one of the most sought-after features for Kiwi buyers: the island bed. And not any island bed configuration, either.

The Bailey Adamo 75-4i offers an extra-long island bed in a private rear bedroom suite. It’s sure to please even the fussiest of buyers. If you’re travelling with friends or family, the rear bedroom can be screened off to create an ensuite bedroom which includes the opposite-facing shower and toilet hand basin. There are wardrobes on either side of the bed, as well as overhead lockers and pleasing curved feature walls that really set off the master bed.

Adaptable living room

Guests are catered for in the front lounge, where the concealed Aguti seats convert to a double bed. Also upfront, the L-shaped kitchen is fully furnished with a Thetford 142 litre combined tower refrigerator with freezer compartment and Thetford ‘K-Series’ combined oven, grill and hob with electronic ignition and flame failure device. Extra bench space can be created with the drop-down extension, and there’s also an attractive round sink with cover.
