Is there anything more refreshing than watermelon on a hot day? Traditional Spanish Sangria is made with red wine, fresh fruit and juices; we’ve just mixed it up a bit by using seasonal watermelon.
SERVES 4
INGREDIENTS
- 1 seedless watermelon, cubed (save a couple of slices to garnish)
- ½ bottle white wine (we used a Moscato for sweetness)
- 150ml vodka
- 50ml triple sec
- 1 lime, sliced
- 1 medium orange, sliced
- Fresh mint, to garnish
METHOD
-
Place watermelon chunks in a blender and blend until very smooth.
-
Strain to remove any bits, and pour juice into a large jug.
-
Add wine, vodka, and triple sec, and stir well.
-
Mix through the lime and orange slices, and refrigerate (four hours is perfect) until ready to serve.
