Make the most of fresh New Zealand limes in this delicious Daiquri-esque cocktail. Thought to be the oldest known cocktail in Cuba, Canchánchara was served as a healing drink (both medicinal and magical). Often served warm, it was used as a cure for colds. Whether it actually has medicinal powers or not, try it – it tastes amazing!
INGREDIENTS
- 1 tablespoon clear honey
- 1 tablespoon hot water
- 1 tablespoon freshly-squeezed lime juice
- 90ml Cuban rum
- Ice
- Lime wedges or slices, to garnish
METHOD
- Combine honey and hot water in a glass and stir to dissolve the honey.
- Add lime juice, rum and ice and stir to chill the drink.
- Top with ice, garnish with lime wedges or slices and serve.
