Did you know?
Rum is the oldest spirit in the world. It has been used as a medicine; doctors prescribed it as an antiseptic and for disease control, while pirates drank it to prevent disease like flu and scurvy. It was even used as a stress reliever until 1917, when the American Medical Association stated ‘its use in therapeutics as a tonic or similar or for food has no scientific value’.
