The Repco Beach Hop, in sunny Whangamatā, is the largest event of its kind in New Zealand that celebrates the golden era of cars. Think V8 engines, bench seats and open-top convertibles. Enjoy a line-up of often-quirky classic cars, chromed and gleaming in the sun. The five-day festival is unrivalled, showcasing hot rods from the 1950s and 1960s. The event is free, with motorhome and caravan parking available at $25 a night.
