For many motorhomers and caravan travellers, the journey is about more than ticking destinations off a list. It’s about the memories attached to the places discovered along the way – the first glimpse of Aoraki/Mt Cook, the stunning backdrop of The Remarkables, or a peaceful stop at the Church of the Good Shepherd beside Lake Tekapo.
These iconic New Zealand landmarks have also inspired artist Rachael Hatton, founder of West Moor Design, whose distinctive artworks celebrate some of the country’s most recognisable locations in a vibrant and contemporary style.
Through a distinctive blend of bold colour and clean lines, Rachael reimagines some of these iconic spots in a way that offers a refreshing persepective.
Originally from England, Rachael studied design before travelling extensively and eventually launching West Moor Design in 2016. What began as a small creative venture has evolved into a growing collection of artworks celebrating New Zealand’s landscapes, wildlife and landmarks.
Her pieces sit somewhere between realism and illustration. The result is artwork that is a celebration of the places that continue to draw visitors from around the country and beyond.
Whether you’ve stood beneath the towering peaks of Aoraki/Mt Cook, admired the beauty of Lake Tekapo or explored the alpine landscapes surrounding Queenstown, West Moor Design’s collection offers a colourful reminder of the adventures that make travelling New Zealand so rewarding.
It’s a fresh take on some of our most treasured landmarks – and a wonderful way to bring a little of the journey home.
