Roborock delivers the ultimate vacuum/mop hybrid
Remember when it was socially unacceptable to gift a loved one a vacuum cleaner? Not anymore!
We’ve been driving the Roborock F25 ACE Pro around home for a couple of months and our floors have never been cleaner. It’s also the first time we haven’t required borderline aggressive rounds of ‘paper, scissors, rock’ to determine who’s mopping!
Before we get into the details, let’s just celebrate the fact this is a truly successful cordless vacuum and mop all in one – plus it self-cleans (including washing and drying the rollers) after every use.
As busy adults who traipse in and out of our slate-tile entrance and polished cork floor living areas several times a day, it’s an ongoing issue trying to avoid a shambolic-looking household. Add a small black fluffy dog into the mix – and the fact he loves to dig in the dirt – and the race to avoid floor cleaning has really amped up over the last 24 months.
To demonstrate how much of an issue this has become, it’s ‘true confession’ time. A no-holds-barred tally revealed that between our cleaning cupboard and garage (where appliances go to retire), we’ve purchased six, yes six, different kinds of mops, floor steamers and other miracle-promisers since welcoming our furry friend to the house. The issue is constant doggy paw prints across every floor surface – and our refusal to accept that there’s not a simple solution for this. Despite our best efforts, there hasn’t been. Until the Roborock F25 Ace Pro came into our lives, we faced either time-consuming combos of vacuuming thoroughly and then using a fiddly (one notch under industrial) steam mop cleaner. The double handling was a pain, to be honest and more often than not our floor stayed neglected because we couldn’t face getting all the gear out (lazy, I know).
However, with the self-charging, self-cleaning and pretty much self-operating Roborock, we realise we’d been making life unnecessarily difficult. Our floors are cleaner than they’ve ever been – not just because of the Roborock’s efficient cleaning, but because it’s just so easy to grab the vacuum/mop and run it across the floors. Nothing needs plugging in as it’s always charged and ready to go, sensors detect how dirty the floor is and automatically adjust suction and water flow, and the FlatReach design lets it easily slide under cupboards and couches (it lies completely flat).
The JawScraper anti-tangle design works really well if your home has long-haired teenagers or dogs (or both) – preventing hair from wrapping around the roller (hallejujah).
And while cleaning appliances aren’t usually a hot topic of conversation in most social circles, it turns out we’ve fostered a new cleaning obsession among some of our closest friends and family.
So far, we’ve lent Ace (as we affectionately call her) to a couple of friends and to my sister. Feedback has been unanimous – an outstanding 11/10 across the board. Followed by online searches to find the nearest stockist.
Sure, if it was ‘just a mop’, the price tag would be outrageously high. But it’s not. It’s incredibly versatile and works as a vacuum (with a gutsy 25,000pa suction), as well as a mop, as well as optional JetFoaming cleaning (Jetson’s lifestyle anyone?) for particularly stubborn spots. (This feature was a definite favourite in the bathroom for extra cleaning assurance around toilet and shower edges).
An additional gold star was earned for Roborock’s standout contribution to my new ‘homemaker’ lifestyle. For anyone else who’s fallen deep into the sourdough rabbithole, one immediate side effect of this is the unexpected concrete-like splats of sourdough mix on the kitchen floor. It doesn’t come off with normal vacuum OR mop efforts – but somehow Roborock’s foam cleanser (which squirts out the front) WORKS – the reluctant sourdough mess is dissolved and dealt with.
The final accolade is around how easy the entire appliance is to use – AI-assisted SlideTech wheels make it feel like the machine is self-propelled. It’s a well-worn cliché, but the Roborock really is a complete game changer when it comes to everyday cleaning solutions.
And if you appreciate cutting-edge tech, while the F25 ACE Pro is incredibly easy to use straight out of the box, the Roborock app unlocks even more functionality. It lets you fine-tune settings and customise your preferred suction power and water flow, monitor the machine’s status and receive handy maintenance alerts, while firmware updates help keep everything running smoothly. I found it easy to use (and I’m not the most patient when it comes to setting up tech), and although it’s not essential for everyday cleaning, it’s a nice bonus that lets you personalise the entire experience.
It’s an absolute thumbs up and our fave appliance of 2026 so far.
