Celebrate regional ingredients, Kiwi ingenuity and innovative handcrafted flavours as we showcase some of our favourite tastes from around New Zealand
Allmite Gold
Add deep rich flavour to every meal, from breakfast through to your last brew of the day, with a touch of allmite gold, an impeccably researched new tahini-based spread developed and made in New Zealand. Offering a creamy, umami-rich taste (with significantly less sugar and salt than traditional yeast spreads), allmite gold is available in its pure original form as well as a mild chilli flavour or three seed (with the addition of sunflower seeds, linseed and black sesame seeds). Find your own preference for elevating dishes, or enjoy spread on toast, on a cheese board or in a smoothie.
Kiki Seed Cracker Mix
One of the many pleasures of life on the road is the social aspect, including shared platters with new friends at campsites. Forget the disappointment of stale or out-of-date crackers lurking in your cupboard and enjoy the crunch and taste of freshly baked crackers with all the good ingredients at hand – just add water and oil. Kiki Seed Cracker Mix comes in four delish flavours, and each one is gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free and plant-based. Packed with flavour and using only natural ingredients, Kiki Seed Cracker Mix is the perfect pantry staple (without taking up valuable storage space with lots of fiddly ingredients). Once baked, they also freeze well for up to three months.
Good Sh*t
While others have dabbled in this space, the results aren’t always delicious – or successful. However, finally you can treat your tastebuds and your gut health, with the world’s first pre + pro symbiotic soda. Designed and made in New Zealand, the refreshing Good Sh*t range comes in four flavours: cola, citrus, ginger and tropical. Entertain without the nasties of traditional sodas, and whilst also giving your gut some good stuff. Perfect solo or as a mixer, each can contains over one third of your daily fibre and 1 billion probiotics.
Nutty D’Lites
Stock up on delicious travel snacks for your next RV roadie, with the ever-so-slightly-addictive Nutty D’Lites collection. Hand-cooked in Nelson, in small batches, they’re the perfect cab and pantry staple. Choose from traditional roasted caramelised cashews, hazelnuts or almonds or try tempting warming winter flavours like Super Hot Chilli or Gingerbread Spiced Caramelised Almonds. Sourcing local is always a priority (hazelnuts are Canterbury-grown) and mixed packs can be ordered.
Wild West Gourmet
We love championing New Zealand brands that quietly but confidently go about their business. Dedicated to crafting unique flavours (kumara and banana chutney anyone?), Wild West Gourmet is a smashing Kiwi brand well worth tasting (and supporting). Harnessing locally grown ingredients from Whangārei district (yes, even the bananas), all products are handmade to time-honoured recipes by Debbie McQuillan and Graeme Bratty – the cooks, dreamers, labourers and doers behind this impressive lineup of gourmet treats. Our fave (it’s tough to choose) is the iconic Worcester Sauce range, with three craft blends to elevate any dish. Wild West Gourmet are the only craft Worcester sauce makers in Australasia.
No8 Distillery
There’s an obvious reason Dunedin-based No8 Distillery continues clocking up national and international awards – and it’s evident when you sample lush creations like the No8 Distillery Cherry Sloe Gin. This unique blend sees New Zealand’s finest cherries rested for five months in awarded gin before being aged to perfection in NZ Port casks for an additional six months. This warm gin offers a delightful, ripe sweetness, fresh acidity, and sour cherry taste, with sloe berries imprinting a unique tartness, warmth, and depth of flavour. It’s a true winter delight to savour and appreciate on your travels. And if you happen to be visiting Dunedin, book in for guided tastings, cocktail workshops or live distilling sessions.
